President Barack Obama has announced
the US is fully lifting its embargo on sales of lethal weapons to
Vietnam, its one-time enemy.
Mr Obama was speaking during a visit to Vietnam after meeting the communist country's leaders.The trip comes amid warming ties between the countries as the US seeks to build relations with Pacific allies.
Vietnam had been arguing for the lifting of the arms embargo, which has been in place for decades.
