India/Africa Summit: Buhari Keeps India in the Dark on Nigeria’s Participation

October 26, 2015.
The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Ajjampur Ghanashyam, told THISDAY Saturday in Abuja at the occasion of India’s 69th independence celebration that despite an early communication and invitation of Nigeria to the summit, his country is yet to get a confirmation from President Buhari that Nigeria will make the summit.
Ghanashyam stated the concerns of New Delhi with the delay, saying that it expected that the confirmation would have arrived by now.
Both nations were colonised by Britain but bilateral relations between them soared from 1962 when the then Indian Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru made a state visit to Nigeria.
